Olivia showed up to her friend's first birthday party in costume, as requested. But the costume didn't last long. She was sweating in there. And in case you are wondering, it is a monkey.

Olivia has started trying to dress herself. This morning, she took a sleeper out of her hamper and was successful in getting it over her head. And then she wore it around just like this.

She fell asleep in her chair today, still holding the handles of her sippy cup. This one-nap thing is working really well except that it's sometimes difficult to get her through lunch before nap.

Eleven months old

Olivia is eleven months old today. We tried taking her photo this morning, but she wouldn't cooperate and all we got were somber looking photos or crazy, jumping-out-of-the-chair photos. So this afternoon, we tried again and got this:

Yesterday, we attended a wedding. This was Olivia's first opportunity to run around by herself (with Mommy close behind) at such a function, and she had A BLAST!

This is what we saw most of the night...her running in the other direction.

She absolutely loved playing with all the kids on the dance floor. She mostly ran, would stop to dance for a few seconds, and then would take off running again. Where she got all that energy, I'll never know!

Buddy Walk

On Saturday, Olivia and I participated in our area's Buddy Walk, a fundraiser for Smile on Downs Syndrome. We were a part of Mary's team. Mary is the three-month-old little sister of Olivia's friend, Cecilia.

Olivia had a good time. I think she'll enjoy it even more next year because she'll be old enough to enjoy the crafts and games that are set up for all the kids.


And here's Olivia at Grandma & Grandpa's farm on Saturday, just enjoying the evening breeze. She was actually petting the cat, but the cat ran away before I took the picture.
